Kenny Clark

While a few more casual Green Bay Packer fans might not remember Quinten Rollins, everyone should know Kenny Clark. The cousin of Daunte Culpepper who played one game in 2003 for the Minnesota Vikings and returned two kicks for a total of 33 yards. What’s that? Absolutely no one has any idea who that Kenny Clark is and I should start talking about the Packers’ really good current defensive lineman?

Kenny Clark has been a part of the Packer’s defensive line for three years since being drafted in the first round in 2016 and has steadily progressed each year. After not recording a sack in his rookie season, he had 4.5 in 2017 and followed that up with six sacks last season. His quarterback hits also have increased from four to six to nine and his tackles for loss from only one his first season to six and eight respectively in 2017 and 2018.

In addition to getting to the quarterback and being a run stuffer, he does the other little things to help his team win. When he can’t get to the quarterback he gets his hands up to knock down passes. He’s knocked down a total of six passes in his three seasons in Green Bay. He also gets the ball back via a fumble, recording three forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries in his time here.

Kenny Clark and Mike Daniels have formed a strong tandem inside. If they can stay healthy, and the Packers can find a third solid lineman to play in their 3-4 scheme, either Muhammed Wilkerson or someone like Ed Oliver in the draft if he falls to them, this will be a scary defensive line to have to try to run against in 2019.
