Wisconsin Badgers Hockey: The All-Time team
The Wisconsin Badgers have a rich hockey history, from the Olympics to the NHL. With so many great players, here is the All-Time Wisconsin Badger lineup.
Hockey is an underrated sport, especially college hockey. It takes a remarkable amount of skill, toughness, endurance, and a certain amount of recklessness to play. But when it’s at its best, hockey is a work of art, ten players skating with ease and moving a small piece of rubber with extreme velocity to each other and at the goal.
And among college programs, few have been as good as Wisconsin historically. The Badgers have won six national championships, gone to twelve Frozen Fours, and have produced some of the greatest players in the world. Over the past few weeks, this writer has been researching some of the greatest players to ever suit up in the Cardinal and White and take the Kohl Center Ice, taking into account their post-college careers and their work in Madison. There are some names who are associated with the school forever, including this team’s captain, and some who you would forget played for the school. But make no mistake, the talent on this squad can match any school’s all-time group.
With that being said, the following team is built as if I was the GM and was making a lineup to play a single game. Between four forward lines, three defensive pairs, two goaltenders, and five players who will watch from the press box, this lineup has scoring, grit, defensive prowess, and elite goaltending. Without further words, here is the Wisconsin Badgers all-time hockey team.
