4. Week 1 @ Chicago Bears

Some have made the argument that this game has far more pressure for the Bears than it does the for the Packers. That makes sense, as they are the team that went to the playoffs last season with a more complete team. However, the Packers are stating the LaFleur era in the NFL’s 100th season with the NFL’s biggest rivalry. They have to put the NFL on notice right from the start of the year.

Chicago melted down in Week 1 against the Packers last year, but they avenged that with a dominating win later on in the year. Green Bay leads the series 97-95-6, and they intend to keep things that way. Coming out in Week 1 with a statement win over the Bears would let the league know that the last two seasons were not indicative of what this team can really be.

The Bears’ offense will likely be better in year two under Matt Nagy, and quarterback Mitchell Trubisky should take another step forward. However, they should have a ton of new looks to throw at the Bears defense that will be taking a step back with Vic Fangio now out west with the Denver Broncos. If they start the year hot, it can set the tone for the entire season.
