Dax Raymond – Utah State

Over his final two seasons, Raymond produced solid numbers that totaled 801 receiving yards along with three touchdowns. At least early on in his NFL career, he will most likely make his biggest impact in the Packers’ passing game.

In this offense, Raymond can be a weapon as a receiver over the middle matched up against linebackers and once the ball is in his hands, he does a nice job of racking up the YAC. Dax will add versatility to this Green Bay Packers’ offense as he can line up just about anywhere in the formation, which is something that LaFleur loves to be able to do with his tight ends.

Raymond uses his big frame well to catch off-target passes and has a very good catch radius. He ran a diverse route tree at Utah State and early in his career he could be a nice red zone target for quarterback Aaron Rodgers given his size, catching ability and the mismatches that he can create with defenders.

An area of Raymond’s game that does need improvement is as a run blocker since he needs to get stronger and is often beat by power rushers. However, these issues aren’t from a lack of effort and a year in the NFL will help him to bulk up and make him more of an every-down player.
