It’s playoff time in Milwaukee. The number 1 seeded Milwaukee Bucks take on the Detroit Pistons and here is everything you need to know about the series.

The city of Milwaukee has Bucks fever. The Bucks and the City dyed the river green and one of the team’s sponsors, BMO Bank, has lit up their building with the Fear the Deer. The city is all abuzz about their number one seeded Milwaukee Bucks.

This is the first time that that Bucks are the number one seed in the playoffs since the 1973-74 season. They have not won a playoff series since the 2000-01 season. This is also the first team the franchise has won 60 games during the regular season since the 1980-81 Bucks team. This has been quite a historic season so far, and team officials and fans are expecting a deep playoff run.

The Bucks have swept the regular season series with the Pistons. Now, they just need to win four more to advance. Beating a team eight straight times in one season is a difficult task. With that said, the Bucks should at least close the series out in five games and have plenty of rest before facing either the Celtics or Pacers.

I fully expect the Bucks to be focused and show that the regular was no fluke. Giannis Antetokounmpo has been nothing short of phenomenal this season. The playoffs are where stars can cement themselves as NBA superstars. This is Antetokounmpo’s show now. Superstars put their teams on their back during the playoffs and will them to a championship. Giannis is an MVP candidate, but this is the team of year where he takes his step forward towards Super Stardom.

One key match-up to watch is Antetokounmpo vs Blake Griffin. Two of the league’s stars battling it out in the first round of the playoffs should be exciting to watch. The Greek Freak is a Defensive Player of the Year candidate, while Griffin is one of the league’s best offensive talents. Granted, Griffin has been injured this season and is questionable for Game 1.

With or without Griffin, the Bucks should definitely advance to the second round of the playoffs. Milwaukee is loaded with talent and is a much deeper team than Detroit is. The Pistons had a goal this season of just making it to the playoffs. They accomplished that, but are not on the same playing field as this Bucks teams. There should be plenty to celebrate in Milwaukee during this series.

The series kicks off on Sunday night at 6 p.m. at the Fiserv Forum. The game will be on TNT but you can also catch all the first round playoff games on Fox Sports Wisconsin.
