Green Bay Packers seven-round mock draft 2.0
By Paul Bretl
Pick No. 185: Stanley Morgan Jr, WR – Nebraska
Morgan is overall a solid player and while he may never be a star at the NFL level, he can be a very good contributor. He is an excellent route runner that runs a diverse route tree and is very precise in his movements, as well as having reliable hands. This kind of precision and dependability is the exact type of receiver that has done well with Aaron Rodgers as their quarterback.
Pick No. 194: Myles Gaskin, RB – Washington
While both Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams are fantastic options at running back, in LaFleur’s offense the Green Bay Packers could still use a third option. Gaskins is an incredibly accomplished college player, totaling over 5,300 rushing yards at Washington with 62 total touchdowns. The concern is his workload, but as the third option, he can primarily be a pass catcher out of the backfield, an area that is a strength of his game.
Pick No. 226: T.J. Edwards, LB – Wisconsin
Once you get to these late rounds, especially round-seven, it is all about taking a swing and hoping you hit a home run. With Edwards, the Green Bay Packers would be getting a player who is a very good warp up tackler and is always going to be in the correct position. He lacks coverage ability but can be a factor in the running game. He will likely be the most effective in early down situations.
