The Green Bay Packers had a disastrous 2017 NFL Draft class that has played a big part in their recent struggles. Let’s go back and re-grade it.

The 2017 NFL Draft was a particularly rough one for the Green Bay Packers. They ended up making 10 selections that season and have yet to see a lot of production out of their draft picks. In general manager Ted Thompson‘s final draft in Green Bay, it’s safe to say he went out with a dud.

Thompson, who helped rebuild the Packers back to a championship contender, relied on the draft year after year. He was rarely active in free agency, instead choosing to rely almost solely upon the draft. It worked for the most part, but years like 2017 really hurt a franchise and Green Bay is still feeling the effects.

Of the 10 selections, only five are still on the roster and only two of them are starters. It’s difficult to miss on so many selections as Thompson did in 2017 when it’s your only form of improvement. Here are the 10 picks the Packers made:

  • Round 2, pick 33: Kevin King, CB, Washington
  • Round 2, pick 61: Josh Jones, S, NC State
  • Round 3, pick 93: Montravius Adams, DT, Auburn
  • Round 4, pick 108: Vince Biegel, OLB, Wisconsin
  • Round 4, pick 134: Jamaal Williams, RB, BYU
  • Round 5, pick 175: Deangelo Yancey, WR, Purdue
  • Round 5, pick 182: Aaron Jones, RB, UTEP
  • Round 6, pick 212: Kofi Amichia, T, South Florida
  • Round 7, pick 238: Devante Mays, RB, Utah State
  • Round 7, pick 247: Malachi Dupre, WR, LSU

Even though there’s still some time for this draft class to change things around, it’s mostly been a disappointment for the last two seasons. Without further ado, let’s grade the Packers’ 2017 draft class.
