Milwaukee Bucks: Predicting NBA Awards
Sixth Man of the Year
This is the award that has the fewest drama. It doesn’t appear to be a heated race and there aren’t many great candidates outside of Lou Williams. Williams could become a three-time winner after being named the Sixth Man of the Year in 2015 and 2018 as well.
As a player who thrives off the bench- that continues to be true in his age 32 season. Williams has averaged 20.1 points per game-the second highest of his career. His ability to score in bunches off the bench has had a huge impact on the Los Angeles Clippers making the playoffs out West this season.
The single biggest threat to Williams winning the award in back-to-back seasons is his own teammate, Montrezl Harrell. Harrell is having himself a fine season, but voters tend to gravitate toward the guards and wings for this award.
