The Milwaukee Bucks have several players who have their name on the short list of candidates for NBA awards. Let’s make some predictions!

The Milwaukee Bucks are fortunate enough to have several players up for awards this season. It’s a lot different than in year’s past when Milwaukee was hardly recognized come awards season. However, that’s the life of being the best team in the NBA and the biggest surprise team.

There are members of the Bucks who are in the running for Coach of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player-arguably the three biggest awards. It’s unlikely they get a clean sweep, but it would be cool to see them bring home two of those awards.

Only select media are allowed to vote for the awards. And, although the voting takes place immediately following the regular season, the NBA doesn’t announce the winner until following the playoffs. In order to get a preview of who might win each award, here are my predictions:

DALLAS, TEXAS – MARCH 26: Luka Do ncic #77 of the Dallas Mavericks drives to the basket against Harrison Barnes #40 of the Sacramento Kings in the second half at American Airlines Center on March 26, 2019 in Dallas, Texas. Rookie of the Year

This is as good as race as any with two very deserving players in Luka Doncic and Trae Young. Both youngsters have had terrific seasons for their teams and are each deserving in their own way. But the truth is it’s been Doncic’s to lose all year long.

Despite Young going bonkers following the All-Star break, Doncic has been the better player all season. He’s averaging 21.2 points, 7.7 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game this season. That’s impressive for anyone, nonetheless a 20-year-old.
