Green Bay Packers: Seven round Mock Draft
185th Overall- OT Matt Scharping, Northern Illinois
Scharping was a guy that really stuck out to me at this year’s combine. He moves surprisingly well for a guy his size of 6-6 320 pounds.
He was a good run blocker in college, however, his footwork in pass protection is a work in progress. Scharping does pack a solid punch though and can really utilize his long reach off the edge. He might be a nice insurance policy at tackle over Jason Spriggs.
194th Overall- S Evan Worthington, Colorado
The Packers can afford to double down at safety this year even after signing Amos. They allowed Kentrell Brice to walk and Bashaud Breeland could have been an option there as well before he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. Worthington is a good prospect with solid upside given his ideal size to be an NFL safety (6-2, 212 pounds).
He plays surprisingly fast and is effective in coverage. At Colorado, he constantly swarmed the ball racking up 114 tackles, nine for a loss, and four interceptions over the last two seasons. His stock took a hit after serving a suspension in 2016 for violating teams rules, plus he has a history of concussions. Still, Worthington is worth a look and will surely be on an NFL roster next season.
226th Overall- Edge Shareef Miller, Penn State
Green Bay signed their two starting outside linebackers in free agency so they wait to take one with their last pick. Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith were great additions and we cannot forget Kyler Fackrell and Reggie Gilbert as their depth.
Miller fits the mold for Packers edge players standing at 6-5 with impressive arm length. His 41 tackles, 15 for loss, and 7.5 sacks did not come by accident in 2018. Miller gives the team plenty of tools to work with as a late-round flier.
