12th Overall- ILB Devin Bush, Michigan

Boom. The Packers add the perfect off-ball linebacker to compliment Blake Martinez in Mike Pettine’s defense.

Bush saw his stock rise considerably following a strong showing at the combine. He possesses tremendous athleticism with 4.43 speed, a 40.5 inch vertical, and a solid 6.93 three-cone. At Michigan, Bush silenced critics who questioned his size by being a dominant tackler. It actually helped him enable his low center of gravity to be a good finisher.

He also showed good coverage ability, comfortable dropping in short to intermediate zones and picking guys in the flat out of the backfield. Bush can be a successful blitzer that has a strong lower body to fight through trash in the trenches. It showed over the last two seasons as he recorded 10 sacks.

The Packers add a difference maker in Bush with their first overall pick and someone that will command the middle of the field like no one they’ve had in years.

30th Overall- OG Chris Linstrom, Boston College

I have the Packers adding one of the best offensive lineman prospects with their second first rounder. Linstrom can be a day-one starter if he wants to but he wouldn’t have to be seeing that they have two solid guards in Lane Taylor and the recently added Billy Turner. However, Turner may be asked to move to tackle though if the team decides to move on from Bryan Bulaga.

Linstrom really stuck out at the combine and his tape backs it up. He is quick to process what is happening in front of him and his hands match his mental capability. He’s a strong pass protector that packs a punch and he’s versatile enough to be a dynamic blocker in the run game. Linstrom would fit perfectly within Green Bay’s offense and could be a long term solution at guard.
