Matt Miller – Bleacher Report

No. 12: Ed Oliver, Defensive Tackle – Houston

No. 30: Nasir Adderley, Safety – Delaware

Of the four mock drafts, this one is absolutely my favorite. The Green Bay Packers would gain two immediate impact players on defense, which frees them up to address tight end, offensive line, and receiver in rounds two, three and four.

When it comes to Ed Oliver he is a must draft player in my opinion. If he is on the board at 12, there shouldn’t be any hesitation from the Green Bay Packers to select him. Oliver put together an incredible combine for someone of his size and lived in the backfield during his time at Houston.

With the quick passing game taking over the NFL, getting pressure from your interior defensive linemen is just as important as from the edge position and Oliver would do just that. He is strong enough to gain leverage in just about any matchup, while also being explosive enough to consistently beat the offensive linemen to get into the backfield. During his time at Houston, Oliver would total 53 tackles for loss and 13.5 sacks.

Next. Skill position players to draft early. dark

With a new defensive front made up of Kenny Clark, Mike Daniels, Za’Darius Smith, Preston Smith, and Ed Oliver, all I have to say to opposing quarterbacks is good luck.
