Michael Deiter – Guard

Round 4: Tennessee Titans

Although he isn’t selected until round four in this mock draft, Deiter may be the most NFL ready of the Wisconsin prospects and would be a steal for the Tennessee Titans if selected at this point.

Deiter has made 54 starts as a Wisconsin Badger and was named the Offensive Lineman of the Year in the Big Ten Conference. What makes Deiter so valuable is his versatility, which is something that any team wants when drafting a young offensive lineman. At Wisconsin, he played all over the line, specifically at left guard, center, and left tackle.

While he has shown the ability to play all over the line, his strength and mobility make him best suited to be a guard at the NFL level. His ability to block in open space will make him a great fit for the Titans who have a mobile quarterback in Marcus Mariota.

Tennessee will be getting a well-rounded prospect who does well as both a pass blocker and a run blocker. If there is any knock on Deiter it would be his length, but that can be negated from playing the guard position.

From his time with the Badgers, Deiter is well versed in the pro-style offense and could be starting opposite of newly signed guard Rodger Saffold for the Titans come week one of the regular season.
