Round 6, Pick 185

Fanspeak: EDGE Corbin Kaufusi, BYU

The Draft Network: WR Terry Godwin, Georgia

With the Packers original sixth-rounder, more developmental prospects await. On FanSpeak, we finally address the edge, but with a guy who is truly a ‘tweener in Corbin Kaufusi. Long, athletic, and energetic, he has the raw tools to be something. But he was inconsistent at BYU and had stretches where he was overwhelmed at the point of attack. He reminds me a lot of Dean Lowry.

With Godwin, the Packers are taking a chance on an undersized slot receiver with top-flight talent, but some questions about how his frame will hold up against NFL defenders. At 5’11” and only 184 pounds, he is a great route runner who will make his living on the same routes that Randall Cobb excelled at. He’s well worth the pick in the sixth round.
