Round 4, Pick 114

Fanspeak: RB Miles Sanders, Penn State

The Draft Network: TE Kahale Warring, San Diego State

Running back isn’t a massive need for the Packers with two talented backs already in the fold in Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams, but Miles Sanders could be better than either of them. Stuck behind Saquon Barkley during his first two years at Penn State, he broke out in a big way as a junior, showcasing his breakaway speed and ability to make plays in a tough Big Ten. Then he dominated the Combine, running a 4.49 40, with 20 Bench Reps, and an elite 6.89 3-cone. This writer is firmly on the Miles Sanders train.

On the other end, getting a tight end is an absolute must for the Packers and in both simulations, the selections never went the way of drafting one until now. With Jimmy Graham, Marcedes Lewis, and Robert Tonyan already in the fold, they can afford to have on develop for one year before really moving into the rotation, and Warring is the perfect developmental tight end. At 6’5″ and with a 36.5 inch broad jump at 255 pounds, he checks all the boxes athletically. And he’s just scratching the surface of what he can do after playing basketball and water polo earlier in his career. He can learn a lot from another former basketball player in Graham.
