Round 3, Pick 75:

Fanspeak: S Taylor Rapp, Washington

The Draft Network: S Taylor Rapp, Washington

Once seen as a potential first round prospect, Taylor Rapp might start to drop down the board a bit due to the moves that teams have made in free agency and his athletic testing at the Combine and Pro Day. What teams will be getting with Rapp is very similar to Adrian Amos, but has a bit more experience playing over the top and in space. He could step in and be an interchangeable with the newest Packer safety, with either playing both the strong and free safety spot.

Rapp’s strength is his tackling, as he is fundamentally sound with every scout raving about his intelligence and instincts. The only issue is his speed, and whether he can cut off the corner on a big run to be a true free safety. But for a defense like Mike Pettine’s, having a safety like Amos who can be used in the same way, that can be a big benefit.
