Round 2, Pick 44:

Fanspeak: OL Dalton Risner, Kansas State

The Draft Network: OG Chris Lindstrom, Boston College

Despite the signing of Billy Turner, the Packers do still need to try to upgrade the offensive line as much as possible in case of injury or regression. And with both Risner and Lindstrom the Packers make their line a strength by the end of Day Two.

Risner is a throwback lineman who brings plenty of anger to his game and will finish his block until he hears the whistle, and sometimes after. Think TJ Lang with him. He can step in and play guard right away and be the top backup at both guard spots and either replace Bulaga or take the spot of Turner or Lane Taylor.

Lindstrom is another mobile lineman who can be an instant starter for whoever he is drafted by. If he were to become a Packer, he’d immediately challenge Turner and Taylor and at worst be the top backup over Justin McCray. In a Zone Blocking Scheme, Lindstrom’s agility and ability to seal off defenders in space would be a massive boost for a coaching staff that has preached all winter about running the ball more.
