Round 1, Pick 30:

FanSpeak: OT Andre Dillard, Washington State

The Draft Network: EDGE Clelin Ferrell, Clemson

If either of these scenarios works out at both pick 12 and 30, then the Packers are playing with house money on Days Two and Three. At pick 30, thanks to the Saints, the Packers, in either scenario, grab a player with great long term potential.

In Dillard, the Packers have the heir apparent to Bryan Bulaga and one of the best natural tackles in the Draft. An athlete with top-flight movement (4.96 40 Time, 118″ Broad Jump, 7.44 3-Cone), Dillard also has the tape to match up. He was a very good player in a pass-happy offense at Washington State. Think of him (positively), as what Jason Spriggs should’ve already been. He’s that type of athlete with better on-field attributes. Sitting for a year to learn from the veteran Bulaga would be the perfect scenario for him and then he can step in and form a top-flight duo at tackle for a decade.

In the other scenario, the Packers get another pass rusher in Ferrell, who may be a surprising tumbler in the Draft due to his lack of elite measurables. Ferrell doesn’t have blazing speed or the natural bend of the prototypical pass rusher, but he does have good power and great hand usage that helps him disengage from blockers with ease. And most of all, his tape shows a guy who always jumps off the screen. He’s always in the play and is a leader. He’d be a great addition to the group the Packers have at Edge.
