5. Inside linebacker

The team released Antonio Morrison after just one year with the team which makes this need a little bigger, but you also have to consider that the Packers have rarely used multiple linebackers on a regular basis. They prefer to use multiple sub packages that get more athletes and speedy athletes on the field to fly to the ball. However, outside of Blake Martinez, the team has no proven contributors at that spot on the roster.

Oren Burks and Josh Jones are good athletes, but neither of them has been able to prove that they belong on the field on a regular basis. This free agent class is deeper at other spots, but there is a good amount of talent at inside linebacker. Players like C.J. Mosely, Mark Barron and Jordan Hicks are going to be available this year, but the Packers may be looking for a different style of player to fill that spot.

They also have a free agent of their own available this offseason in the form of Jake Ryan. Ryan played well before he tore his ACL before last season got started, but the team may find a younger and better option available to them somewhere else. The team likes to have depth everywhere, so it’s likely that they’re going to add someone in free agency from this class or in the draft next month.
