There are a number of good free agents available to the Green Bay Packers this offseason if they decide to pursue them. Here are the top 50.

Everyone loves rankings, right? I do too. That’s why I decided to rank the top 50 projected free agents as it applies to the Green Bay Packers. The Packers and general manager Brian Gutekunst will have about $30-35 million in cap space to work with this offseason and should be able to pursue any one of these free agents if he so chooses.

The “tampering” period of NFL free begins on March 11th-a date that’s fast approaching. During this time a team can begin negotiations with a player and agree to a sort of handshake deal. However, contracts can’t officially be signed until after 4 pm Eastern time on March 13th. At that point, teams can officially sign players to new contracts.

A lot of deals tend to happen during that first 48 hours and a lot of players get overpaid. Whether Gutekunst and co. dip their toes in right away remains to be seen. However, if they want to get in on some of these top players, they might be forced to get into a bidding war.

This list ranks the top 50 players who could hit free agency in March. Some of these players might re-sign with their teams by that time, but the list is compiled of players who are eligible for free agency. Some notable players who don’t fit with the Packers’ scheme might be missing completely. For example, say a linebacker is a top 20 free agent but only plays in a 4-3 scheme. That linebacker likely won’t pop up because it doesn’t make sense for Green Bay to ever sign him. Without further ado, here are the top 50 free agents in the NFL according to the Packers’ needs.
