John Brown

Compared to just about every other NFL wide receiver, at 5’11”-180 pounds, Brown is considered undersized but what he lacks in size he more than makes up for with his speed and big play potential.

After an injury-riddled 2017 with the Arizona Cardinals, Brown was able to bounce back in 2018 with the Baltimore Ravens appearing in all 16 games. On the season he hauled in 42 receptions, averaging 17.0 yards per catch, including five touchdowns.

Over his career, Brown has made a name for himself as a home run hitting receiver that can break off a big play at any moment. In 2018, 15 of his 42 catches went for 20 yards or more and in his entire career, nearly 25 percent of all receptions have fallen into that same category.

In the Green Bay Packers’ offense under head coach Matt LaFleur, Brown can be used in a similar capacity as San Fransisco 49ers’ head coach Kyle Shanahan uses Marquise Goodwin and the same way that Sean McVay of the Los Angeles Rams utilizes Brandin Cooks. Both of which are speedy downfield threats and that style of player will fit well in LaFleur’s scheme, which has been molded from his time working under both Shanahan and McVay.

At 28-years-old, Brown still has plenty of gas in the tank and according to Spotrac is expected to land a contract around two years, $12.2 million, which the Green Bay Packers can very easily afford and could provide the team with a big playmaker on offense.
