Tyrone Taylor

Tyrone Taylor isn’t on the top 30 prospect list, but he is someone to watch out for in this upcoming season. With both Keon Broxton and Domingo Santana being traded this offseason, Ben Gamel is the only true outfielder off of the bench that has major league experience. If one outfielder goes down, Taylor could be the first to come up.

Taylor may not be under the spotlight now, but he once was when he entered the Brewers system. He was drafted in the second round of the 2012 draft and was supposed to be a big contributor in the future. Around 2014 was when Taylor was getting recognized more, but he has now fallen off the top 30 prospects ranking.

Taylor is not thought about when it comes to the Milwaukee Brewers outfield due to the fact that they have one of best outfields in baseball, along with highly touted prospects coming up. Either way, Taylor is still someone who we could see in the near future.

At just 25 years old, Taylor has already earned himself a spot on the 40-man roster and heading into 2019, he is looking to make the 25-man roster. He is a righty that played all three outfield positions in 2018 with the Triple-A Sky Sox. When it came to what he did at the plate, Taylor had a breakout season. He hit .278 with 20 home runs and 80 RBI’s in 2018. Most of his success was at home in Colorado Springs, but you have to respect the year he had.

General Manager David Stearns obviously has a lot of trust in his youth if he’s not making any additions to the outfield, and a lot of it could be due to Tyrone Taylor, who seems to be one step ahead with his experience in the minors. If Taylor produces as he did in 2018, he will be in a Brewers uniform and could make a big impact when it comes to the outfield depth.
