Jaire Alexander, CB (Round 1, 18th overall): B+

Alexander had a very good rookie season with the Packers. After Green Bay moved down in the draft with the New Orleans Saints, they swung a deal with the Seattle Seahawks to move back up to the 18th pick and nab Alexander.

Despite his lack of ideal height for a corner, Alexander is a true fighter. He’s the heart and soul of the defense and plays with a contagious passion. He missed a fair amount of time due to injuries and it was obvious when he wasn’t out there.

Regardless, Alexander was always right with his man. He got beat sometimes, but often it was because of his lack of height. He showed all the ability in the world to be a legit press-man corner in the NFL. He might be best suited to play inside in the slot, but that’s perfectly okay given the pass-heavy offenses in the NFL. Alexander has a great base to work with and will only get better from here.
