Green Bay Packers: Re-grading their 2018 NFL Draft Class
Equanimeous St. Brown, WR (Round 6, 207th overall): C+
Equanimeous St. Brown was the lone pick of the sixth round for Green Bay and the third wide they receiver selected. Despite that, he might have the highest ceiling of the three. St. Brown is tall and strong and needs to work on his route-running, but did flash some ability during his rookie season.
Overall, he appeared in 12 games, starting seven of them and hauled in 21 receptions for 328 yards. Notably, he failed to bring in a touchdown reception during his freshman campaign. Typical for a rookie, St. Brown had extreme highs and lows. He had five games where he had fewer than 10 receiving yards. On the other end of the spectrum, he had two contest where he hauled in 89 and 94 yards respectively.
For late round picks, that flash in the pan is what you look for during their inaugural year. St. Brown proved he has the potential to be a wide receiver in the NFL even if it’s not a high-end starter. This depth should bode well and Green Bay will look for him to take the next step in the offseason.
