The Milwaukee Brewers have made some moves in January and there’s a chance there will be more to come. Here are three moves they could make before camp.

The Milwaukee Brewers weren’t as busy as last season, but general manager David Stearns has made some good moves and there could be more to come.

This offseason has been very underrated. Compared to the 2018 offseason, it’s definitely not as good, but they have been very successful and made some under the radar moves that could help them in the long run in 2019.

So far, the Brewers biggest move is signing free agent catcher Yasmani Grandal. Just like a lot of  Stearns moves, they came out of nowhere without any information prior. This move created a huge upgrade at the catching position and they now have a very deep catching core with Grandal, Manny Pina, Erik Kratz, and Jacob Nottingham. The deal is a rental, but getting Grandal for one year (possibly two with a mutual option) is a huge signing and this could help them make another playoff push.

The other moves that were made were less noteworthy, but they involve players that are underrated additions. The acquisitions included UTL Cory Spangenberg, LHP Alex Claudio, RHP Jake Petricka, RHP Bobby Wahl, and OF Ben Gamel.

Spangenberg was signed early in the offseason as a weapon off the bench and someone that can be used at almost every position. Gamel was acquired from the Seattle Mariners and is now the fourth outfielder for the Brewers. And Claudio, Petricka, and Wahl are three guys that add a lot of depth to the already stacked bullpen.

There have been a lot of moves, but the Brewers are definitely not done yet. Second base is still a position of need, David Stearns said they are in contact with a number of players and Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic speculated the next move for the Brewers could be cutting cap to sign another player. More is coming and here are three things that could happen:
