The Milwaukee Bucks are on the verge of something special. Here are five goals they should set for themselves for the new year.

The Milwaukee Bucks are sitting atop the NBA mountain as 2019 begins. Not the figurative one, but literally the top, as they have the best record at 25-10. They’ve been one of the best surprises in the league and hope the end of 2018 was only a warm up for what’s to come in the new year.

Under head coach Mike Budenholzer, the Bucks have unlocked everything they ever thought possible. When Jason Kidd was the man in charge there was this feeling that Milwaukee wasn’t reaching their full potential. And it turns out that feeling was spot on.

Budenholzer has implemented modern schemes and has maxed out the talents of the Bucks’ best player, Giannis Antetokounmpo. Using a spread offense, Antetokounmpo has plenty of driving lanes to attack his man one-on-one. And when the defense collapses, he has no issue kicking it out to any of his teammates who bomb away from the outside.

The defense has also improved, as Budenholzer has implemented passive schemes. The drop pick-and-roll coverage has been the most talked about and it’s forced opponents to take more shots outside of the paint than against anyone else. All of this has us talking about what the Bucks ceiling is for the rest of the season. So, without further ado, here are five goals the Bucks should set for the rest of the season.
