2. Darius Slay vs Davante Adams

This battle is important, not only for the outcome of the game but for the outcome of Adams’ season. He is just three catches off of breaking the Packers’ single-season record for catches. He also has the ability to break the team record for yards in a single season with a big game this week. Adams is making his mark on the top tier of receivers in the NFL, and this game can further cement that status.

Darius Slay is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. He has the ability to shadow opposing team’s top wide receivers every week, and he is normally pretty successful in that effort. In the last matchup between these two teams, Adams got the better of Slay to the tune of nine catches for 140 yards and a touchdown. Slay can cause problems for Adams if he gets hands on him at the line of scrimmage, but that is far easier said than done.

When Rodgers is in trouble, he looks in the direction of Adams. Adams isn’t the biggest or fastest receiver on the field, but he is the one that Rodgers trusts the most. When facing the Packers, you have to force someone other than Adams to beat you. In the last matchup, Mason Crosby‘s awful day was the team’s undoing, but Adams was able to get his job done. If that doesn’t happen again, the Packers could end the year on a sour note.
