The Green Bay Packers got their lone road win of the 2018 season last week in an overtime thriller over the New York Jets. In Week 17, they get a matchup with the division rival Detroit Lions that have played really well against them in the last year due to quarterback injuries and team inconsistencies. The Packers will be looking to build some momentum into the offseason and head into next year. They were beaten badly by the Lions earlier this year, but they can avenge that loss.

A lot of what happens this week will have to do with whether or not Aaron Rodgers plays. He played arguably his best game of the season last week, but that is no guarantee that he plays this week. For the purposes of this exercise, we’re going to operate as if Rodgers is playing as long as he doesn’t experience an injury in practice. The 2x MVP has cooked the Lions in the past, and he’ll be planning to do more of it this week.

This is the final game that either of these teams will play for some time, and they will both be looking to build some momentum into the offseason. For some players on both teams, this is their audition for teams this offseason. They’ll need to win their matchups, and the Packers will need to win these matchups if they plan to get the win on Sunday afternoon.
