2. Aaron Rodgers vs Lack of trust with young receivers

In his career, Rodgers has always performed best when he was playing with people he trusted. As players have aged out, such as James Jones and Jordy Nelson, those trusted targets have become harder to find. With injuries to Geronimo Allison and Randall Cobb limiting their experienced weapons this season, we have seen just how important that trust factor is to Rodgers and the success of this offense.

Rodgers is completing over 66 percent of his passes when targeting the trio of Allison, Cobb and Davante Adams. When targeting everyone else, excluding the running backs, that number falls to 59 percent. Tight end Jimmy Graham was brought in to give Rodgers a field stretcher that was great in the red zone, but he hasn’t been anything close to that all year. Graham could easily be a free agent next season if he doesn’t finish this year strong.

The Packers drafted three athletic marvels at the wide receiver position in J’Mon Moore, Equanimeous St. Brown and Marquez Valdes-Scantling last offseason. We have seen some flashes from two of those three, but Moore has only been on the field a handful of times all year. That needs to change this week to start building that chemistry with Rodgers for the future. Get the rookies out there, and let’s see what they can do.
