2. Kenny Clark vs Bryan Witzmann

Assuming Kenny Clark plays on Sunday, he will immediately improve the Packers chancing of winning on Sunday. He’s second on the team with six sacks, and he has an elite ability to penetrate up the middle and push his man into the quarterback’s lap. Against a sneakily athletic quarterback like Trubisky, this will be a key to keeping in the pocket. The Packers have been done in by mobile quarterbacks breaking contain when the Packers lose their gap integrity.

The Bears’ offensive line has been improved over where they were last season, but their weakness is starting right guard Kyle Long‘s replacement Bryant Witzmann. Witzmann has been around the NFL for a few years, but he hasn’t played at the same level as Long. Luckily for him, the rest of the offensive line has been able to make up for his deficiencies.

As we have seen against Rodgers in the past, teams work to keep him in the pocket with their interior defenders. That’s what Clark needs to do this week against Trubisky. He needs to win his matchup against Witzmann and force Trubisky to get rid of the ball before he is ready. If Clark is able to do that, Trubisky could continue his struggles from last week against the Rams.
