1. Aaron Rodgers vs himself

For the past several years, the offense has become schoolyard hopes and dreams. While a lot of that can be attributed to a lack of creativity in the play-design and playcalling, a certain amount of the blame rests with Rodgers. He has some of the most control over the offense of any quarterback in the NFL outside of Drew Brees and Tom Brady. In nearly every game over the past three seasons, we see far too many instances of Rodgers attempting to do too much.

When Rodgers sprained his knee in the first game against the Bears, the offense looked absolutely elite in the second half. The way they did that was to save Rodgers from himself. As was previously stated, the offense was getting the ball out of his hands to keep him healthy. They have gone away from that as Rodgers has gotten more healthy, but it might not be the worst idea to go to it again this week.

dark. Next. 5 Packers who will be gone in 2019

The Cardinals don’t have the same caliber of defense that the Bears do, but their pass-rush is a top-notch unit. If the Packers call a simple play to gain a few yards, it’s up to Rodgers to take what the defense gives, rather than trying to manufacture a kill shot. If it’s 3rd & 1, you don’t need to get 30 yards. Rodgers is better than he has played in recent weeks. Let’s see him do it this week and lead this team to a win like we know that he can.
