5. Green Bay Packers Offense vs A Lack of Creativity

For the past few years, the Packers’ offensive creativity has consistently dwindled. They struggle to scheme receivers open, put their best players in a chance to succeed and take some of the entire load off of Rodgers. He is still otherworldly in what he can do, but he’s been trying to do too much this season, which has hampered how the team is working as a whole. They have the chance to fix that this week by changing the script on how this team works offensively.

The Packers have four wins this season. However, the only one that looked like the Packers team we know and love is the second half of the Chicago Bears win from Week 1. The offense was working at warp speed and wearing the Bears defense out. Rodgers’ ability to improvise and extend plays is one of his best tools, but he is also one of the best at breaking down defenses at the line of scrimmage and getting the ball out fast.

Last week was also the first time that running back Aaron Jones got over 20 touches in a single season. Against a Cardinals run defense that is one of the worst in the NFL, that can’t happen. He should see at least 25 touches. If he doesn’t, it’s just another example of the Packers not using their pieces to the fullest potential. Manufacturing touches for your best players is how the best offenses succeed. If they don’t do that, we’ll see the same boring offense we’ve seen recently.
