4. Shea Patterson, Michigan

Shea Patterson was a five-star recruit heading into Michigan and has failed to completely live up to the billing. The biggest thing that stands out about Patterson is his cannon for an arm and he loves to use it. Patterson will often take (and make) shots down the field to his receivers.

His athleticism and ability to get outside the pocket also stand out. He is a magician in the pocket and often extends plays. Unfortunately, he can get somewhat undisciplined during these episodes.

On the cons side, he might be a bit injury prone as he suffered a torn PCL in 2017. He also stands only 6-foot-2 and 203 pounds which will further increase concerns about his durability. Patterson may have more work left to do than anyone on this list, but the excitement follows him wherever he can go. If he can harness his abilities, he’ll become a good NFL quarterback.
