1. Jonathan Taylor

The Badgers have had a lot of great running backs in their program’s history, but Jonathan Taylor might be the best one. Okay, so maybe that’s a bit of recency bias, but he’s certainly in the top three along with Ron Dayne and Melvin Gordon.

Taylor has already run for more yards than Dayne through his sophomore season and still has two games to play. He also probably should’ve been in the NFL after last year. Regardless, Badgers’ fans continue to watch Wisconsin lean heavily on their stud running back.

Barring something unforeseen, Wisconsin will get at least one more season out of Taylor before he departs for the NFL. Taylor is a perfect blend of size, speed, patience and vision. He takes what the defense gives him and has a knack for taking even more after that. He’s truly a present. Now, if only he can hang on to that dang football!
