Arbitration Eligible Players

Going into the offseason, there are some players that don’t know how they are making just yet. Approximately 11 guys are arbitration eligible and it will be interesting to see how much they will make in 2019.

Jonathan Schoop:vOne of the most debatable topics going into the offseason is Jonathan Schoop. He had a terrible season all around and didn’t do much for the Crew. But I believe it would be a big mistake if he gets non-tendered. He had injuries, played for the Baltimore Orioles, and got traded for the first time in one year. No wonder he didn’t do well. The price may be high, but it will be worth it. He could make around nine to ten million.

Travis Shaw: There is no question that he will stay with the team and earn some money in 2019. He’s a fan favorite and will most likely be the starting third baseman unless some changes are made. I expect he will get around five to six million.

Corey Knebel: In the second half, he went back to his old self and was dominant. He will be back with the team, possibly closing games for the Brewers next season. He’ll be in the four to five million range.

Jimmy Nelson: Nelson will be back next after a devastating injury in 2017 on a slide into second base. He could be a key guy in the rotation this season and will hopefully have a good comeback year. He could make around three to four million.

Hernan Perez: Perez has been Mr. Versatility for this Brewers team for a while now. Great bench guy, can play any position, including pitcher and awesome in the clubhouse. Two to three million a year for him.

Junior Guerra: Guerra had an up and down year this season, but in the playoffs, he showed he could be dominant out the ‘pen. Hopefully we’ll see him in a Woodruff-type role next season for the Crew. He will most likely make two to three as well.

Zach Davies: Davies dealt with injuries all season and didn’t have the best season. But he will most likely come back to add rotational depth or maybe use him as a trade piece. Two and a half to three million for him.

Domingo Santana: Didn’t play to his full capabilities and lost his job in the first half of the season, but came back and was a go to off the bench. And next season, he’ll be a big part of the Brewers team. He’ll most likely make two to three million.

Manny Piña: Big part of the 2018 catching core with Erik Kratz. Will most likely return to the Brewers squad. Great defender with a cannon for an arm. His offense is a little streaky, but will produce with opportunities. Two to two and a half million a year for him.

Other Eligible Players: Erik Kratz, Xavier Cedeno, Tyler Saladino
