1. David Edwards, OT, Wisconsin

The Packers could potentially part ways with right tackle Bryan Bulaga at the end of the season and save themselves some money. Bulaga was the 23rd overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and has had a very up and down career. When he’s healthy, he’s one of the better right tackles in the league. Unfortunately, he consistently struggles with injury and misses a lot of time.

Bulaga will only have one year remaining on his deal and could become a cap casualty. The Packers can save $6.75 million off their 2019 cap if they release Bulaga before June 1. That’s a huge incentive for Green Bay to go cheaper and younger at the position.

Edwards would then be a great pick to step right in and fill the starting tackle spot. Edwards has a very high ceiling at the position and has great athleticism. Right now, he’s a better run-blocker than pass-blocker, but that could change with some more time in pass protection. If Green Bay selects Edwards, it could be the steal of the draft.
