Green Bay Packers: 5 players to consider in first round of 2019 NFL Draft

2. Jachai Polite, OLB, Florida

It’s been well documented just how much help the Packers need on defense and specifically at outside linebacker. Jachai Polite could be one of the best outside linebackers in this draft and would immediately provide a huge boost to Green Bay’s pass rush.

Polite has had a breakout season at Florida and has racked up 8.5 sacks with 14.5 tackles for loss. That’s leaps and bounds better than the two sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss he averaged during his freshman and sophomore seasons.

Polite would also provide the Packers with some added speed on defense-something they’ve been sorely lacking for years. Polite does a great job of using that speed to get around the edge on passes and to take down the quarterback. Polite would be a tremendous get to the Packers if he falls to their draft position.
