Green Bay Packers: 5 players to consider in first round of 2019 NFL Draft

4. Brian Burns, OLB, Florida State

The Packers’ outside linebacker position is a complete mess. Nick Perry is battling another injury, but was ineffective even before that. Clay Matthews is still adequate, but he’s better suited as a rotational player instead of a major contributor. Kyler Fackrell has come on as of late, but it’s unknown if he can do it for long chunks of time.

That’s where we enter Brian Burns into the equation. Burns is projected to go in the middle of the first round at best and could very realistically fall to the Packers wherever they may draft.

Burns would provide Green Bay with an explosive pass rusher at the edge and someone who can wreak havoc on opposing quarterbacks. This season alone, he’s racked up 10 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss. His pass-rushing repertoire is deep and he’d be a great fit for the Packers.
