Green Bay Packers: 5 reasons 2018 has been a disaster

2. Special teams errors

Green Bay’s special teams unit is a walking joke. They’ve cost the Packers numerous games already this season and there’s no reason the team shouldn’t make a change at coordinator as soon as possible.

Every week, it seems, the Packers third unit makes some sort of blunder that ends up playing a huge role in the game. Whether it be Mason Crosby missing four kicks or Ty Montgomery fumbling a kickoff return or penalty after penalty after penalty. We’ve seen it all with this unit in 2018.

Special teams are made to play complementary football to the other two units. Unfortunately, the Packers special teams constantly gets in the way and forces things to be more difficult for the rest of the team. Fans prepare themselves for a penalty on every play and more often than not, they aren’t wrong. This has easily been one of the most disappointing aspects of 2018.
