Final thoughts

McCarthy has had significantly more success than Kidd ever did as a coach, but it is too easy to spot the similarities between the Bucks situation last year and the Packers situation this year.

The similarities make it clear, the Packers would benefit from a new coaching staff. Changing the staff midseason probably wouldn’t provide a big boon for the Packers as it didn’t really for the Bucks last year when Joe Prunty took over. However, the Packers front office needs to seriously consider a coaching change at the end of the season.

The Bucks front office took their time this offseason, evaluated several coaching candidates and eventually selected a competent, well-respected coach with modern schemes to take the Bucks to the next level.

The Packers should follow the same approach while Rodgers is still playing at an elite level, otherwise they are going to have to depend on Rodgers going “R-E-L-A-X” on people ever year and carrying the team to the playoffs; Meanwhile the Bucks just boat-raced the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night with their superstar only playing three quarters.  Hmm, maybe coaching does make a difference?
