3. Patrick Corbin

Patric Corbin is another lefty starter who could really help the Brewers in 2019. Unfortunately, he had a really good 2018 season and will likely be too expensive for Milwaukee as a result.

Following two seasons with an ERA above 4.00, Corbin posted a career-best 3.15 ERA in 2018.  Corbin was also an All-Star in 2013, but had Tommy John Surgery and missed all of 2014. He and his agent will unquestionably use this season to prove he’s completely back and ready to contribute in a big way moving forward.

Unfortunately for the Brewers, they already have one pitcher in Jimmy Nelson who is recovering from a major injury and they can’t afford to take another risk on Corbin. Also, because of Corbin’s big season, he’s likely in for a huge payday. At 29-years-old, he’s a bit younger than the other top pitchers and will likely command a longer and larger payday because of it.
