8. Justin McCray

Justin McCray is another feel-good story that I don’t like to dump on. McCray was out of the NFL just two years ago and working a side job someplace else. However, the Packers gave him an opportunity and he jumped all over it.

In 2017, McCray played all over the offensive line and ended up starting eight games. He was a great utility player for Mike McCarthy and did an admirable job filling in. However, McCarthy tried to stabilize McCray and give him only one position to concentrate on to help him improve. Coming into the season McCray was the starting right guard for the Packers.

Unfortunately, that didn’t last long for McCray. He suffered an injury just three games in and then ended up losing his starting position entirely to Byron Bell-a late offseason signing. Now, McCray watches most games from the sidelines and hasn’t sniffed the field even when right tackle Bryan Bulaga has missed time with an injury.
