The Milwaukee Brewers will be able to grab a free agent or two this winter. Let’s take a look at six realistic candidates they could sign.

The Milwaukee Brewers were one game away from the World Series this season and now have an opportunity to add a few players to their roster in order to take the next step. Even if they brought back their whole team from last year, general manager David Stearns figured to have some money to spend.

However, he’ll have even more now. Third baseman Mike Moustakas declined his $15 million option for 2019 and will become a free agent. Joakim Soria also declined his option which was set for $10 million. That frees up a significant amount of space for the Brewers.

While Moustakas was solid for the Brewers, they still have a number of options behind him. Third baseman by trade Travis Shaw is still on the roster and would have no issue sliding back to the hot corner. In Shaw’s place, the Brewers could give Jonathan Schoop one last try.

As for the bullpen, Soria is a bigger blow. He pitched very well for Milwaukee down the stretch and was one of the key depth pieces that made their bullpen so good. We can’t rule out the fact Milwaukee might try to bring him back, but they’ll have other options as well. Let’s take a look at six very realistic free agent candidates the Brewers could sign this winter.
