The Milwaukee Brewers were able to regain control of the NLCS thanks to a shutout Game 3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Milwaukee Brewers shut down the Los Angels Dodgers in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series and won 4-0. The victory put the Brewers back on top in the series with a 2-1 lead and ensured they’d at least be able to return to Miller Park if necessary.
The Brewers used very timely hitting and capitalized on more Dodgers’ mistakes in order to take home the victory. As the most unlikeliest of players continue to come through in the clutch, the Brewers have just enough offense to pull off these victories.
Jeremy Jeffress and the Brewers flirted with disaster in the bottom of the ninth, but were ultimately able to get out of the jam and take home the “W.” Here’s everything you may have missed.
The Brewers came right out of the gate and put runs on the board. Christian Yelich drew a one-out walk and then scored all the way from first base on this Ryan Braun double down the left-field line.
.@ChristianYelich already has a lot of fond memories at Dodgers Stadium. Now he has one of scoring the 1st run of game 3 of the #NLCS. #OurCrewOurOctober pic.twitter.com/AqHS6bwErl

Jhoulys Chacin was dominate again for the Brewers and threw five and one-third scoreless innings. He was able to work out of a bases-loaded jam here with the nice strikeout.

Even though Mike Moustakas would have a bad error in the next inning, he flashed the leather here. This was a beautiful diving stab and throw to end the fourth inning.

Travis Shaw showed off the speed (and a bad play by the Dodgers) and got all the way to third base on a triple. He scored a few pitches later thanks to a “wild pitch” that got away from the Dodgers’ catcher.

Corey Knebel pitched one and two-thirds inning and was simply lights out. He threw straight gas in this game and should be available for Tuesday’s game as well.

Orlando Arcia is climbing up the Brewers’ history books. He hit his third home run of the preseason which is tied for second-most in Milwaukee’s postseason history. This one couldn’t have come at a better time, as it put the Brewers up 4-0 and gave them some breathing room for the last nine outs.
Is there such a thing as a seeing-eye home run? If so, here's an example of one. #OurCrewOurOctober pic.twitter.com/ZQ8obyXE9O

Craig Counsell pulled Josh Hader after just 11 innings in favor of Jeremy Jeffress for the entirety of the ninth inning. Jeffress struggled once again and had the bases loaded with one out. Fortunately, he was able to make enough pitches to get himself out of the jam and ensured the Brewers came away with the victory.
