4. Packers wide receivers vs Lions defensive backs

Davante Adams should be active on Sunday, but there are a lot of question marks behind him. Geronimo Allison and Randall Cobb are both questionable right now with a couple different injuries, but we could definitely see rookies like J’Mon Moore and Equanimeous St. Brown get serious snaps. Marquez Valdes-Scantling should get more snaps, but he has to be more consistent than he has been thus far.

Cornerback Darius Slay currently ranks as the ninth overall cornerback per Pro Football Focus, and he also spends a lot of games shadowing other teams top wide receivers. While Adams will still get his touches, Rodgers will need the other receivers to step up and take those other looks. One thing the Packers have going for them is the fact that the corners outside of Slay struggle in pass coverage, but they excel in run defense.

The Packers have done a much better job of “scheming receivers open” this season compared to the past few years. They have had multiple players running open that Rodgers has surprisingly missed. With increased practice time this week, hopefully, he hits more of those throws than he has in the past couple weeks. This offense is built around Rodgers and his receivers. These rookies might have a lot of growing to do come Sunday afternoon.
