The Green Bay Packers take on the Detroit Lions in a battle of two NFC North teams looking to build midseason momentum with some big matchups to watch.

The Green Bay Packers (2-1-1) take on the Detroit Lions (1-3) in Week 5 on the road. They will be looking to build on their shutout victory from last week, while the Lions will be trying to recover from their narrow defeat against the Dallas Cowboys. Injuries could play a major part in this week’s matchup. When looking at the Thursday practice reports, multiple key players were injured for both teams.

The Packers have played very well against the Lions in recent years, especially when Aaron Rodgers has been active. Despite possibly being without two of his top three receivers this weekend, he should have no trouble making it all work. This offense has looked disconnected and disjointed in recent weeks, which is something that Rodgers and head coach Mike McCarthy have both discussed on a couple of occasions.

The Lions defense has been picked apart by multiple offenses this season, including Dak Prescott of the Cowboys and Sam Darnold of the New York Jets. It could be a get right for the Packers, but they could be in for a trap game as well. If they play down to their competition, this rivalry game could come back to bite them. The Packers are favorites this week, but they will have to win these matchups to make it all come together.
