2. Corey Knebel keeps his scoreless streak going

Former All-Star reliever Corey Knebel has had the true definition of a roller coaster season with Milwaukee in 2018. He began the year as their undisputed closer and dominant pitcher at the backend of the bullpen. However, that didn’t last long, as he blew a save in the first game of the season against the San Diego Padres.

Then, on April 5, he injured himself and ended up missing a little over a month of baseball. When he returned on May 9, the Brewers had established Jeffress and Josh Hader as their studs in the pen. After a few appearances, Knebel was able to work his way back into the closer role, only to struggle.

He was later sent down to the minor leagues to work on some things before being recalled to the majors. Since he’s returned on Sep. 2, Knebel has had 16 straight scoreless appearances. With Jeffress not being available, Knebel will once again be moved into the closer’s role where he will thrive and allow the Brewers to keep their strong bullpen intact.
