Running Backs

Jamaal WilliamsWilliams was the Week 1 starter due to an Aaron Jones suspension for the first two games. He failed to overly impress, but was simply serviceable in the run game. He’s seen his playing time dip since Jones’ return, but that’s to be expected. He’s been able to save face in the passing game, where he’s quickly emerged as one of the premier pass blockers from the running back position in the NFL.

Grade: C+

Ty MontgomeryPoor Montgomery. He’s had a couple of nice catch and runs called back that has really suppressed his numbers. However, he did have one maintained against the Bills off a wheel route down the sideline. Pass-catching has been his forte so far with the Packers (which shouldn’t surprise anyone). However, similar to Williams, he’s been good in pass-blocking as well.

Grade: C+

Aaron Jones: As soon as Jones returned in Week 3, he immediately proved he was the most talented back the Packers had. His elusiveness and determination when running the football are unmatched in Green Bay. Pro Football Focus has him as the highest rated runner on the team, also giving him the highest grade amongst the three backs.
