1. Fall short of CFP

I fully predict the Badgers to run the table and take down both the Nittany Lions and Wolverines. I even expect them to win in the Big Ten Championship game to move to 12-1 on the season. However, that still won’t be enough to make it to the College Football Playoff.

The field ahead of the Badgers is a grueling one. The Clemson Tigers could run the table, earning them an unquestioned spot in the playoffs. The SEC could also get two teams in, as the committee and the country loves their conference. Look for Alabama and Georgia to take those two spots.

That leaves one spot up for grabs with Wisconsin hoping to take it. However, the Pac-10 and Big-12 also have viable candidates in Standford and Oklahoma respectively. If either of those teams finishes undefeated or even with one loss, they will likely trump the Badgers’ resume.

Wisconsin has had a difficult time earning respect from a national standpoint. Even though they were ranked highly to begin the season, the continued to drop their first two weeks despite winning by large margins. At the end of the day, their style isn’t conducive to what the committee enjoys seeing. Unfairly, it will cost a 12-1 Wisconsin team a chance in the College Football Playoffs.
