5. Kentrell Brice/Josh Jones

Kentrell Brice beat out Josh Jones for the starting safety spot opposite Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in training camp. And it appeared the competition wasn’t even all that close. However, Brice has struggled mightily throughout the first three regular season games and continues to blow coverages down the field.

The pressure is obviously getting to Brice and he doesn’t appear to have the ball skills to play safety in a pass-first NFL. However, it’s unclear whether Jones does either.

Jones was supposed to be cleared medically to play last week, however, he was inactive at Washington. That was quite a surprise, as he had said earlier in the week he would play.

Now, if both Jones and Brice are on the field Sunday it’s worth keeping an eye on the two. How is the time split? How do they perform? Is Jones in more of a natural safety position or a hybrid safety/linebacker? All of these questions and more will be answered against the Bills.
